- BLANEY-CRIDDLE will calculate daily and monthly reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) and crop evapotranspiration (ETc)
by the Blaney-Criddle method.
- The input data is: mean [monthly] temperature (oC), the given month,
latitude (degrees), hemisphere (North or South), actual insolation time (a fraction between 0.0 and 1.0), minimum
relative humidity (%), daytime wind speed at 2-m depth (m/s), and crop type (a choice among thirty common crop types).
-
The output data is: ETo (cm), monthly ETo (cm), daily ETc (cm), and monthly ETc (cm).
-
To calculate ETc, the crop coefficient kc is
set at the midrange value of Table 2-5 in the text
"Engineering Hydrology, Principles and Practices."
- Allowable input data ranges: Temperature is restricted in the range 0-40 degree Celsius;
latitude in the range 0-60o;
actual insolation time in the range 0.0-1.0;
minimum relative humidity in the range 0-100%;
daytime wind speed velocity at 2-m depth in the range 0-10 m/s.
Input values outside of these ranges will cause the
respective value to reset to the closest limit (Example:
entering 12 for daytime wind speed will cause its value to reset to 10).
