PEARSON will perform flood frequency analysis using the Log Pearson III method
(Ponce, V. M., 1989. Engineering Hydrology, Principles and Practices, Prentice Hall).
Click the YES radio button if you are using SI units;
click NO if you are using U.S. customary units.
In SI units, use cubic meters
per second; in U.S. customary units, use cubic feet per second.
You can also use PEARSON to calculate precipitation frequency (mm, cm, or in). In this case, enter series in the appropriate depth units, and interpret the output (Q) in the same units.
The program will first prompt you
to enter the number of years n in the flood series,
and then to enter the flood series Qi, separated by one space.
The program reports flood peaks (Q) for the following frequencies: 1.01, 1.11, 1.05, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, and
200 years.
